The Homemaker's Mentor is offering a pretty and free project to make for Mother's Day -- this weekend in the U.S.A. -- or another time:
As they describe it,  "Ladies have stitched cheery gingham checks for well over 100 years to decorate clothing, linens and gifts. And you can, too!"
Please note: I personally believe that boys and men can and should embroider too, by the way :) I taught my oldest son to sew when he was quite young. He made a Scooby Doo pillow out of one of his out-grown shirt, for instance. Now as a teen he is willing and able to sew rips in his jeans or any other project that needs doing. His wife will be thrilled, I think :)
